Wellness Corner

Wellness is a state of being which encompasses our physical, mental, spiritual, emotional, social, environmental, occupational and financial needs.  It is not just the absence of a disease.  Wellness is a way of life, and focusing on wellness is a choice.  However, it is not always an easy choice, as we are faced with many stressors on a daily basis.  As members of ABAG we want to encourage each other to find ways to take whatever steps we can (big or small) to start making our Wellness/Well-being a priority. 

Health and wellness are not synonymous terms.  Health is the state of being free from illness or injury.  Wellness is a state of complete physical mental and social wellbeing.  It is the act of practicing healthy habits on a daily basis to attain better physical and mental health outcomes, so instead of just surviving, you’re thriving.
